I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #12205) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, practising in British Columbia since 2011. I provide virtual counselling to adults throughout the province, and I am registered with several BC funding programs including CVAP, ICBC, WorkSafeBC, and WorkBC.

What “RCC” actually means

Registered Clinical Counsellor is a protected professional designation in British Columbia. It means I have:

• Completed graduate-level education and supervised clinical training
• Met the standards established by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC)
• Committed to ongoing professional development

As an RCC, I am committed to practising ethically, protecting your confidentiality, maintaining my professional competence through continuing education, and following the BCACC Code of Ethical Conduct and Standards of Clinical Practice.

I am registered with BCACC. I am not registered with the College of Counselling Therapy of BC (CCTBC) or any other BC regulatory body.

BC funding programs I am registered with

I am registered with the following, where eligible:

• CVAP – Crime Victim Assistance Program
• ICBC – Insurance Corporation of British Columbia
• WorkSafeBC (WSBC)
• WorkBC

If your counselling is funded through any of these, we may be able to work together at no cost or reduced cost to you. Eligibility is determined by each program.

Please note: MSP does not cover counselling services provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors, and I am not currently contracted with any EAP providers.

Where in BC I can see you

I provide virtual counselling to clients throughout British Columbia. As long as you are located in BC at the time counselling begins, we can work together regardless of where you live in the province – Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Interior, the North, or a rural community with no local counsellor.

If you are a BC resident who is travelling or temporarily living abroad, we may also be able to continue our sessions during that time, depending on your circumstances and location.

Counselling is currently offered in English only.

Counselling that understands the BC context

I understand, both personally and professionally, the challenges many people in BC are facing: the rising cost of living, housing concerns, financial stress, and the isolation that can come with living in a rural community.

Over the years I have had many conversations with clients about how these issues affect their emotional wellbeing, their relationships, and their overall quality of life.

I believe it is important to consider the broader context of a person’s life, not just the challenges they bring to counselling. Together we will look at practical strategies that fit your circumstances.

Navigating the BC health system

I am familiar with many aspects of the BC healthcare system, though I would not consider myself an expert in every part of it. When appropriate, I am happy to help clients navigate referrals or communicate with their family physician. If I am unsure about something, I will tell you rather than guess.

My training and background

Master of Counselling – City University of Seattle, Vancouver, BC campus. My degree meets the educational requirements for registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

Practising in BC since 2011 as a Registered Clinical Counsellor.

Ongoing professional development. I have attended a variety of professional trainings and conferences throughout my career to expand my knowledge and better support my clients.

Clinical supervision and consultation. I have participated in regular clinical supervision and consultation throughout my career. Currently I consult with three experienced therapists on a regular basis to discuss clinical questions, gain different perspectives, and make sure I am providing the best care possible.

Professional liability insurance. Yes, as required for my counselling practice.

Fees and extended health

Fee: $150 for a 60-minute counselling session.

Free consultation: Yes. I offer a no-fee 15-minute phone call for potential new clients before you book.

Extended health coverage: Coverage depends on your individual plan. Even clients with the same insurance company may have different counselling benefits, because coverage is determined by their employer or individual plan. I always encourage clients to check their coverage before their first appointment so there are no surprises.

Receipts: My receipts include the information typically required by insurance companies, including my RCC registration number and practice address.

Funded programs: I accept clients whose counselling is funded through ICBC, CVAP, WorkSafeBC, and WorkBC, where applicable.
